David commenced as an adviser in 1969 and has maintained his involvement in the financial industry all the way through this period.
In 1986 David along with Norm Knell formed Shaw Knell Financial Group (SKFG). Punch Flemmer joined SKFG in 1995. At the beginning of 2010 David and Punch Flemmer (a Director of SKFG for 16 years) formed Precept Financial Services.
In early 2012 David took on the role of Strategic manager, given Precept wanted to ensure the business was meeting top industry standards in all areas.
David remains a contact point for his clients, although the advice side is left to the 7 in house advisers.
David is married with 4 children.
He enjoys golf and travelling whenever possible.

Kevin worked as an accountant and a sales manager before moving into comprehensive financial planning in 2005.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Accounting and Financial Planning from Curtin University.
He also has specialised qualifications in direct equities and Self Managed Superannuation. He provides comprehensive financial planning and can provide advice in all areas of financial planning.
Kevin became a partner in Precept Financial Services with Dave Shaw and Punch Flemmer in 2011.
Kevin has a son, enjoys martial arts and following the AFL (Carlton).

Paul was born in the UK and immigrated to Australia in 2009. He enjoys meeting clients and believes maintaining an ongoing relationship with them is the only way to ensure they remain correctly financially planned through the various stages of their lives.
His belief in holistic financial planning means clients are catered for across all areas of financial planning. Paul ensures his clients achieve their financial goals using tax and investment strategies with good quality, cost effective products. Due to his background Paul is in the beneficial situation of fully understanding UK personal pensions and the UK State pension scheme.

James has been a Financial Adviser with Precept since 2012 and enjoys the idea of building long term relationships with his clients to guide them through all stages of life.
In July 2018 James became an owner of Precept Financial Services and now enjoys the additional responsibilities this brings including the mentoring of other advisers and staff and helping them grow.
James has been involved in the financial services industry since 2000 and has held various roles in superannuation administration and Paraplanning in Perth, Melbourne and the UK.
James has completed an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services and a Masters of Applied Finance and is able to provide advice in all areas of Financial Planning, including Self Managed Super Funds.
In his spare time James is kept very busy with his 3 young children Mitchell, Jake and Lara and also plays Rugby Union for Wanneroo when time allows.

Amanda has been in the Financial Services industry since 1988 and has had various roles in Corporate Super and Practice Management and has run her own Paraplanning and Advisory Business since 2006.
She holds a Bachelor of Business (Mgt) from Edith Cowan University, Advanced Diploma of Financial Services ( Financial Planning ) and has served as Director on the Board of Alzheimers (WA) Ltd.
Amanda joined Precept in 2013 and currently holds the role of Technical & Corporate Superannuation Manager.
Her roles focuses on providing support to Employers and education services to members.
In her spare time Amanda enjoys cooking , entertaining & holidaying both in Australia and overseas with her husband and 2 children.
Douglas Smith holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Western Australia with a Minor in Business Law through the UWA Law School. Douglas also holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) completed through FINSIA.
Douglas was previously employed with a tax accounting and several boutique financial planning firms before establishing Active Financial Services then Defined Financial Advantage. Douglas Smith is an Authorised Representative of Charter Financial Planning and is qualified to give advice on Superannuation, Retirement Planning, Personal Insurance, and Investments including Gearing.
Douglas enjoys ocean swimming, golf, and travelling, relaxing and international cuisine.
Ian Von Berg
Ian von Berg has over 30 years experience advising individuals on how they can accumulate and manage their assets. Ian’s expertise involves working with his clients to ensure that they manage their affairs efficiently and that they have effective strategies in place to meet their current and future needs.
Ian is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and holds the following qualifications:

Ian’s interests are food, golf and travel. He immigrated to Australia in 1979 and has four children.
Janet has been employed in the Financial Services Industry for over 30 years! She immigrated to Australia in 1996 and after having 2 children, she returned to work and commenced study for the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).
Janet has been involved in the Paraplanning side of the business compiling Statements of Advice in risk and superannuation for 4 years before advancing into her current role as an Adviser in 2010.
Janet has completed her Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and is able to provide advice in all areas of Risk management as well as Personal and Corporate superannuation.
Janet spends most of her spare time with her husband and two adult children and she also likes to take regular trips back to the UK to see her own family.
Gregor guides his clients through the ever-changing superannuation, investment and life insurance landscapes, and helps to clear the confusion in this age of seemingly endless information and change. He enjoys seeing clients gain the confidence to make informed decisions so they can get on with enjoying the things that matter most to them.
He is passionate about helping people grow and protect their wealth. Gregor has over 20 years’ experience as a financial planner having worked both interstate and overseas for companies such as Perpetual, Westpac, The Bank of New York and Merrill Lynch.
Jason has been in the financial services industry since 1995, holding various positions locally and interstate involved with equities/options trading, product management and business development. He has been a financial planner since 2012.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Economics and Banking), a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and self-managed superannuation fund accreditation.
Jason is passionate about providing great strategic financial advice to his clients, to build and protect wealth, enabling the best possible financial outcomes and ultimate quality of life for them.
In his spare time Jason enjoys cycling, ocean swimming and paddleboarding, as well as trying new restaurants with friends and live music.
Alan has 30 years’ experience in the life insurance, superannuation and financial planning industry, 20 years of which have been in a client advisory capacity.
Since 1982 Alan has been involved full time with accounting practices assisting clients with their financial planning needs.
Alan has completed (with distinction) the IPAC Securities Limited course in Advanced Financial Planning, the Australian Insurance Institute Diploma in Life Assurance, the Diploma of Financial Planning through Deakin University (and Financial Planning Association) is a Fellow of the Australian Financial Advisers Association and Member of the Financial Planning Association.
Daniel began his career in the financial planning industry in 2010, after completing a Bachelor of Commerce, with a Financial Planning Major at Curtin University. Daniel has worked in various roles within the industry from administration through to Paraplanning and advice related positions.
Daniel joined Precept Financial Services as a Paraplanner in 2012 and was responsible for the development of comprehensive financial plans for our clients. This has helped him develop extensive technical and legislative knowledge across multiple areas of financial advice, including, superannuation, insurance, investments, self managed super and retirement planning.
Daniel has a passion for travel and experiencing different cultures and cuisines. He enjoys the AFL and is a West Coast Eagles supporter.
Daniel’s goal is to help people secure their financial future. He believes that having this security allows people to have choices, when faced with the challenges of everyday life. This security can be found using Insurance, Superannuation, Wealth building, and Retirement planning.
He completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree, majoring in Financial Planning, with Curtin University. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Daniel is married to Carolyn, and they have a son and two daughters. Their evenings and weekends are usually spent running the kids around for their different sports.
In his spare time Daniel likes fishing, camping, and watching whichever sport his children are involved in.
Roberto worked in marketing and brand management before moving into financial planning 9 years ago. He has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, majoring in Marketing and Management from Curtin University.
Roberto holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and is able to provide advice in all areas of Risk management as well as Personal and Corporate superannuation. He is also fluent in Italian.
When not at work, Roberto enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children as well as playing basketball.
Tom has working in financial planning since 2007. He has completed a Bachelor of Commerce, Advanced Diploma in Financial Services and Self Managed Super Fund accreditation.
Tom deals with all types of clients including retirees and pre-retirees and also younger people who are in the process of building their wealth or paying down debt. Tom’s goal with every client is to present good advice that ensures they are well informed. His favourite client is one who asks lots of questions.
Tom and his partner Victoria have two young kids and he enjoys watching AFL and playing soccer on Sunday.
Kristy has worked in the financial services industry for over 15 years, working both interstate and in the UK. Kristy holds a Bachelor of Finance, a Bachelor of Economics with Honours, and the Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).
Kristy helps her clients to grow, manage and protect their money and she considers this to be a real privilege.
Kristy grew up in Perth and is married to Paul. They have a young son and in their spare time they enjoy catching up with family and friends, travelling, and spending time outside.
Vince has been involved in the financial services industry since 1981 and has held various roles in administration and Management in Perth and Melbourne before taking on a financial advisory role with in 1998.
Before joining Precept in 2012, Vince was director of his own financial planning business Western Financial Planning.
Vince completed his Diploma of Financial Planning in 2001 and is a member of the Association of Financial Advisers.
He is qualified to give advice on Investment, Superannuation, Retirement Planning and Personal Insurance and enjoys/specializes in helping pre and post retirees achieve their goals and ambitions in retirement.
Vince enjoys spending time with his family and enjoys coaching/managing the local junior AFL and cricket teams and is an avid West Coast Eagles member.
Andrew has been in the financial services industry since 2005, working as a Senior Adviser in several banks and independent financial services firms.
A Perth local, his background includes having served time in our nation’s defence forces for several years and owning and running other successful small businesses.
Andrew believes in holistic financial planning and building lasting relationships of value with his clients, to ensure that clients achieve both their changing financial and lifestyle goals as they move through life.
Andrew holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (FP) and specialised qualifications in Self-Managed Super Funds.
A keen rugby league follower, Andrew supports the Canberra Raiders of the ARL, and also follows cricket closely, specifically the Western Warriors and Perth Scorchers.
Andrew is married to Kaye and has three sons.
Richard has over a decade of experience as a Financial Advisor specialising in direct investment advice and management. He now focusses on holistic planning in order to achieve your goals. Richard is passionate about clarifying your goals , developing the plans to help you achieve them and maintaining a disciplined approach to reviewing progress and achieving results while protecting your most important assets.
Richard was an Officer in the Australian Army from 1991 to 2001 in the Royal Australian Armoured Corps. He started in Financial Advising in 2001 and sold his practice in 2010. Between 2010 and 2016 he worked in the construction industry in Perth and spent 2012 to 2016 doing FIFO work on the Wheatstone Project at Onslow. He returned to Financial Advising in 2017.
Richard is married with two children and a dog. His wife, Jo, is a Primary School Teacher. He enjoys sailing, cycling, and watching the West Coast Eagles and Wallabies.
